While i was waiting at the airport to catch a plane back to chennai….i was sitting in the lobby….when they announced that the flight was delayed by almost half n hour….oh god!i wanted to come back home coz i missed ma sis a lot ,,anyway…nothing could me done…so i settled in a corner with my ipod and an express paper in hand..i started listening to ma fav songs and was playing su-do-ku…after about 10 minutes i was distracted by something and noticed a small kid….walking back and forth with those kind of shoes that make quacky noise when you walk with them….

Since i was not doing too well with the su do ku….i turned my attention towards this small one…wondering what he could do…while passing by my chair…he smiled at me….n i couldnt help smiling back at him…as i always have a soft corner for small children and so i gave him a wide smile n handed him a chocolate…oh…u must have seen the happiness and joy that spread on his face….then i just shook hands with him….n he went on with his walking…with those small spongy shoes….after about a minute or so….he had fallen down…n was crying…….crying in the sense that…there were no tears…jus the sound….i was then..reminded of ma dad’s stories about ma sis….coz even ma sis used to cry for petty things…but there would be no tears….just the sound…and once ma dad takes out his camera…..that sound would dissapear instantly and she would give her best…widest smile….so thinking of all this…i couldnt supress a smile…the child who had a fall……he was looking at me….maybe for another chocolate…i din know wat to do…anyway…seeing me smile…he immediately started smiling started running towards me with his hand stretched out in front of him…guessing what it was all about…his parents too started smiling….so then…. i gestured to him that i had no chocolates left for him…..immediately he began crying…and to console him i pulled out another choicolate and gave it to him.,,,and the same thing happened all over again..it was when i took a closer look that i noticed that there was a slope there and so the little one always was fallingl there..and again this time he fell down…his parents came…n then again he started walking towards the place where he fell and then this time again he fell down….i was thinking…what kinda of a boy is this one…who keeps on going to the same place where he fell..and then after about 5 minutes…when i was immersed in my su-do-ku…i watched this small one silently creeping out of the chair where his parents had placed him and stealthily he went over to the same plce…stopped a few feet before the point where he had fallen and walked carefully across the slope n then beyond the point where he had fallen previously…he started claaping n shouting in joy…..even i clapped for him..n a few more ppl who were watching this whole scene rite from the beginning….his parents realised what had happened…n then…before i could do anything….the announcement for the flight was made….n with a last look at the small kid i made my way to the plane….it was only after we took off and were in the middle of the flight that i noticed how the incident i saw was so common in our day to day lives…..while having my tea…i noticed that …all of us are faced with some problems or the other and of course all of us give it a try….and when we fail..we decide that we are not fit enough for that n so we take it for granted that we have failed in our attempt and carry on with other things…but when i thought of the small child…i was very surprised by the determination he showed to overcome his obstacle…of course….the goal might be small or a really big one…but what matters is trying n trying till we are atleast satisfied with our work….n i realised that one doesnt need Edison or Lincoln as an example for not giving up till we succeed…there’s even this small one…..lol……………
