Just as I had mentioned there, Happiness means different things for different people and different things at different points of time. There are a lot of things which would make one happy. Today I was extremely happy.
The reason, I was at Home! Home Sweet Home!
I love being at home. From Mom’s food, to my Rocking chair , My eternally well stocked Fridge and My swing I love the place so much that I really don’t feel like going out most of the time. I mean, it’s all there here, why would I even bother going out?
Coming back to what made me happy, Today in specific. I am a big time Foodie. I love tasting new cuisines and experimenting and trying out new dishes . So when mom treats me with her special delicacies, I would be on cloud nine. Today was one such day. Since I was at home, Mom asked for what I wanted and I asked her to prepare a few of my favourite dishes.
I ate to my heart’s content. Enjoying every bite, enjoying the taste and the mix of flavour, exactly the way I like. Relishing it bite by bite, slowly, so that I do not miss that moment. I asked for another helping and tried a different combination, ensuring that the taste would not get affected, since I’m very particular about it. I enjoyed every mouthful and mom was happy that I was enjoying it. After what seemed like eternity, I was done with lunch. The Rocking chair was so inviting and I sat there trying not to fall asleep.(Unda mayakam). In the ensuing battle, I Β very conveniently allowed sleep to win and dozed off for about 20 minutes(Power Nap).
What more did I need? I ate to my heart’s content and slept well when my brain said I should take a nap. There was nothing more important than me having to listen to my mind and oblige.
Post my power nap, I felt truly happy. I don’t know why, I don’t know the reason, but somehow I felt happy and rather than trying to ponder the reason,I decided I might as well savor the moment.
As I always insist, It’s the Small things in Life, that matter the most!

The bliss of not being able to fight the gradual downing of your eyelids after a delicious and sumptuous meal that fills you to the brim is definitely not something that one can describe in words.
I completely echo your sentiments. Want to add – Unda Mayakkam on a workday is reserved for the blessed :P.
Cheers π

I've always felt that being happy without a reason is always special. Coz once you know the reason you are happy for something, it might fade away after time. But If you are unaware of the reason, you can always play it back later in your life. π

They say, “way to a man's heart is through his stomach”. And when mom makes it, it worth every single bite – and more!
