ABC Challenge #25: Y for Yesterday

It seems just Yesterday that she was born, she has already turned one. Her smiles, her tantrums, her reactions are getting cuter, day by day.

It seems just Yesterday that she was One, she has already turned ten. The baby girl is shaping up as a strong, lovable and a wonderful child.

It seems just Yesterday that she had joined school, Now she has finished her Graduation. Where there was a child there is now a strong, confident and an independent woman.

It seems just Yesterday that she was getting ready for her first day of work, Now she has completed 5 years with the organization. Along with it come the appreciations for her hard work with good and not so good experiences.

It seems just Yesterday that she was playing with the Barbie doll, Today she is getting married. The young girl has become a princess, a multi-talented one.

It seems just Yesterday that she was getting married, Now she is a daughter, a wife, a mother and working women. She manages to handle all her roles diligently.

It seems just Yesterday that she was in her thirties she has already turned fifty. She has slowly begun to show signs of getting tired.

It seems just Yesterday that she was she was starting to show signs of getting tired and now she has a new hobby. After having quit her job and putting end to her monotonous routine, she has started following her passion. It is never too late to start anything.

It seems just Yesterday that she was enjoying her second innings in life, today she is no more. Time flies. You never know.

Yes, time flies. Children grow old. Parents grow old. The next generation keeps getting older, giving way for the new ones.

In fact, one should consider oneself lucky if at all there are able to live through all the different stages in their life. Just when things seem to be getting better, there can be an abrupt end. You never know. You probably cannot do anything about it. So it is never too late to start something. You might not able to finish it the way you imagined, but you would at least have the satisfaction of having started something new.

  1. It is so true. It was just yesterday I was a bubbling 18 year old teenager, and now I am still full of enthusiasm and ever eager to learn more, and do more, at the age of 54, I don't think I have let time just fly away, nor has time left me behind. I feel time is constantly with me all the time.
    Nice post, and you have almost reached the end of the challenge. I still have a few more weeks to go.

  2. may i add if you can appreciate Hindi;
    kal hi ki khabar thi, bistar se uth nahin sakte'
    phir aaj taqat kahan se aayi ki jahaan se uth kar chal diye !
    ( it was only yesterday, i heard that he cannot move out of bed, how come today he got all the strength to get up and leave this world )

    -such are the ironies life is made of !
