Have you been in a situation where you see something, get obsessed with it for months, finally forget about it & go on to pursue something else?
Does this keep happening to you for every other task that you take up?
Warren Buffet has an amazing strategy that can help you learn the art of prioritizing and help you focus on your goals.
Here’s my piece in The Hindu thREAD on the art of prioritizing. Read? 🙂
I’d love to know your thoughts on this, and please do share your experiences.

Interesting piece. I honestly believe in the power of grit and focus to get things done. Habit building depends on this. Small actions done everyday that build up to bigger rewards and returns. I completely agree with finding what you love to do and sticking with it.
In addition, I’ve found that in the age of social media and distraction, what matters is how keen you are on your goal. If that is prioritised then distraction doesn’t faze you. I’ve learnt a lot from studying how the ones who do it well manage. Laura Vanderkam and her time blocking strategy have been an incredible source of inspiration. Plus I also noticed those who work hard do one thing: not squander their time on social media. They use it as a tool enhance their goals, which I find exemplary. Finally I’d like to think I’m halfway there and enjoying the process 🙂

Very true, Shailaja! If we’re set on our goals (after we spend time identifying what we really want to do), no amount of distraction would be able to keep us away from reaching our targets. Thank you for mentioning about Laura. I am keen on reading about her time blocking strategy.
I’ve always looked at people in awe, who use social media and still gain something from it.I guess, if you really make up your mind to do something, you can even learn a lot from social media- which is a conventional time waster 🙂
Thanks for your lovely comment 🙂

Prioritizing is not my best skill but there are a few things that I have stuck to over the years, including writing, photography, art, and long-distance walking. Everything else is fun and bonuses for me.
